When "I'M THRIVING" Doesn't Tell the Full Story!

Last week's coaching session reminded me why I have become fascinated by what I now call The Hidden Score™.
When I asked my client how she was doing, her answer was immediate:
"I'm thriving."
And she was.
At least on the surface.
She was functioning.
Showing up.
Managing responsibilities.
Getting things done.
But as we explored her experience more deeply, another story began to emerge.
Not a negative story.
A human one.
Because wellbeing isn't only about whether we're coping.
It's also about:
Awareness
Recovery
Outlook
The ability to notice what's happening beneath the surface before our bodies force us to pay attention.
Increasingly, I'm convinced that many high performers aren't struggling because they lack resilience.
They're struggling because they're measuring the wrong things.
Performance is visible.
The Hidden Score™ is not.
It's found in things like:
Recovery
Emotional capacity
Stress load
Self-awareness
The quality of the relationship we have with ourselves
These are often the factors that determine whether success remains sustainable.
Before you ask how you're performing, ask:
What am I carrying that my performance doesn't reveal?
Sometimes the most important score isn't how well you're performing.
It's how sustainable that performance really is.
The Hidden Score™ isn't about how much you're achieving.
It's about understanding what your achievements may be costing you.
A Hidden Score™ Reflection:
What are you carrying that your performance doesn't reveal?
